Notes

Worthenbury Manor is approached over a gravel drive up to the front door which opens into a vestibule. One step up from the vestibule brings you into the hall, off which can be found the dining room and drawing room. Three stone steps lead up to the rear hall, and the stairs to the first floor. The garden and paved patio with garden furniture can be reached from the rear hall by descending two stone steps to the garden door, and then through the garden door, descending two further stone steps onto the patio. The bedrooms are accessed by ascending a single flight of 15 wide stairs flanked by handrails to the landing. The Oak Room is off the landing and its private bathroom has a low corner bath. Captain Rayners room, also off the landing, is accessed up two steps and the en-suite bathroom is entered through a door and down two steps. The original cast iron bath is very deep and can be difficult to climb out of. There are no ground floor bedrooms. Worthenbury Manor is located in Worthenbury Village which is very rural and lacks public transport access. The nearest town is Wrexham, which is 9 miles away. There are a number of local taxi companies which serve the area and the typical cost of a taxi journey from Wrexham to Worthenbury is £13-£15. Assistance with your luggage is always offered. Mobile phones work in the area, although the signal can be weak especially inside The Manor. A land line is available for guests use 24 hours a day in case of emergencies. Worthenbury Manor is a listed building; its size and construction makes wheelchair access unfortunately impossible.
