“Peaceful Retreat”

Stayed at Heron Cottage on Pitlands Farm as a family with our 18 month old boy and springer spaniel. The farm is beautiful with fields of animals, well-kept gardens and two fishing lakes stocked with carp. Friendly welcome from owners and staff. Cottage was really pretty, spacious, clean, comfortable and well-appointed. No mobile phone signal which I count as a bonus and the wifi was decent. Enjoyed the week very much relaxing in the Jacuzzi, fishing in the lakes, walking in the fields and visiting nearby National Trust properties and the West Midland Safari Park. Stunning sunrises 20 mins drive supermarkets so bring supplies with you or some guests arranged deliveries. Some basics provided such as dishwasher and washing machine tablets, cleaning products, washing up liquid and dish cloths. Not much to suggest for improvements... We didn’t see any alpacas, which I was looking forward to, but there were goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and sheep for our boy to say hello to. Would have been nice to provide some tea, coffee, sugar and milk on arrival. Also i believe fresh eggs are available, but we didn’t see where these were or we would have tried them and also maybe would have tried the home cooked breakfast. Overall a fantastic place for a relaxing and peaceful break, with great fishing and beautiful views. Don’t think twice about booking! Thanks for a lovey week.
