    “very enjoyable, birthday treat.”

No directions given with booking, also postcode given was in the middle of a field. when we finally arrived we mentioned the postcode discrepancy and was told very abruptly, "the postcode is right, you must have a dodgy sat-nav", this didn't quiet seem a very good welcome. after being invited in we were made aware that we where too early, which we knew, but after the flight needed the use of a toilet, this in its self was rather inadequate as it was both male and female, without a lock on the door. when we came down to breakfast, the choice was "ok" when we eventually noticed a small blackboard on the wall behind the cereal selection, my partner ordered poached eggs on toast, fine two eggs poached to perfection, myself i asked for scrambled egg on toast, again the scrambled eggs were very nice the down side was one slice of bread cut into a circle for some reason, hence a lot of egg with very little toast, we were then bought a covered basket with, as informed our extra toast.... one slice between us. basically, a rather stingy helping more suitable for a child under 10.
another downside was the postage stamp size television that was so small we could not read the words on the very limited t.v. guide. the owner boasted about the "super king size bed, which was very nice but, we both didn't find the mattress very comfortable, and had an aching back both mornings, maybe personal problem. the breakfast room was adequate, but having to walk through a rather untidy ramshackle living room/storage area didn't seem very professional, or inviting.

Thank you for taking the time to post you review. I'm sorry that we seemed to not hit it off as well as I had thought when we first met, and that you didn't enjoy your stay. There seems to be an issue on the island with GPS systems that are not set up in Jersey. If you have any tips on how to contact the GPS and SatNav companies to rectify this, please let me know. I would be grateful to not have to deal with this particular issue ever again. The "ramshackle living room/storage" was indeed not looking it's best due to water ingress caused by an inattentive guest flooding her bathroom upstairs - perhaps I didn't explain that clearly enough - I am happy to say that now the carpet has dried, been cleaned, and the room is back to it's usual cosy and welcoming arrangement. As this area is the only access to the breakfast room from the bedrooms, I'm not entirely sure how we could have greatly improved this particular situation. We do like to try and engage with our guests so that they feel comfortable, for example, asking for more toast or if it is possible to change rooms should they find the one they're in unsuitable. Again, I am sorry that this wee B&B wasn't to your liking. Regards Victoria
