Lovely period converted cottage, boasting high ceilings, beams and oak floors set on a working sheep farm in the rural idyll of Burton Overy. Weekly rates £330 to £380. Weekend rates £125. Pub in village serves excellent food.

Burton Overy is just off the A6, 7 miles from Leicester city centre and 9 miles from Market Harborough. Shepherds Rest Cottage is at Manor Farm on the corner of Washbrook Lane and Back Lane. It is situated between junctions 20 and 21 off the M1 which will take approximately 30 minutes from either junction by car.

We find that hotels in the UK are very expensive for what you get and we like to be independent. Shepherds rest gave us a quiet place in a nice country setting. There was everything for a pleasant stay and Nicola provided a welcome hamper which was good. We thoroughly recommend this cottage.
