Directions to The Straw Cottage, Ty Gwyn Farm, Llandrindod Wells, LD1 5NY

From the North via A44 and A483 from Crossgates.
Come into Llandrindod Wells, go past the Metropole Hotel (large green hotel on your left), at the mini roundabout go straight ahead. After less than a quarter of a mile you come to a wide left hand turn opposite the Old Grosvenor Bakery, signposted the Lake and Golf Course. Take that left turn and go out past the lake and up the hill, past golf course club house on your left, round bad bend, past bungalows on your left, keep going for about 1/4 mile and then follow the road as it bends sharply to the right (do not take the road in front which has a no through road sign). Look for the finger post that says Ty Gwyn Farm. Follow the lane and go through a metal gate (normally open), down the hill to a black gate,(normally open) turn in just through the black gate into the yard, there is a white Ty Gwyn painted on the wall. Continue up into the courtyard, where we will meet you and direct you to the Straw Cottage.

Ty Gwyn Farm is the only farm on the right after the golf course. Don't go into Ty Gwyn Bach, which is well before you come to us.

“Wonderful peaceful weekend”

Went beyond our expectations.
Each morning the sun comes up over the hills and you hear the stream, birds and sheep.
Our four year old absolutely loved it. She could play safely by the cottage running in the fields. She was so happy to walk to say hello to the sheep each morning and take her net to the stream.
Thanks to Margot for the Treasure hunt we had a great Saturday morning after breakfast following the clues.
For us as parents it was relaxing and even when it did rain the cottage was big enough for our daughter to play and there are toys available for children in the toy box.
It is very warm if you set the log fire to low and stays warm all night.
I would say there's no reason to go anywhere else if you're staying for a few nights like we did. So much space to walk around.
Anthony and Margot are very knowledgeable of the local area and pleasant to chat with.
We would definitely return as this is just what we like for a short break.

Thank you Stephen. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at The Straw cottage.. Lovely to hear that you enjoyed just being at the Straw Cottage and did not feel the need to travel when you are here for a short stay. We always hope that there is enough to see and do and explore around the cottage for both adults and children! best wishes Margot
