    “Great cottage - shame about the parking”

    The accommodation was very good - and was comfortable and very clean. It was VERY convenient for Keswick shops and restaurants - a 6 or 7 min walk.
    I would have given Gable Cottage an Excellent score but for two issues : 1. the off-street parking was in a car port accessed from an alley to the rear of the property. We do not have a large car, but it was VERY difficult to park in the car port (and almost impossible to park on the street as it was a bank holiday weekend). I think a mini would park comfortably...but be very careful with anything larger. Also beware other cars parked in the alley, bins in the alley, and the concrete door step opposite ; 2. the stair case was very steep and the stairs quite narrow. We struggled to get our suitcases up and down stairs. People with mobility problems or very young children may want to take note.
    However, overall we had a brilliant time in Keswick and would certainly come again - though avoiding a bank holiday weekend might be a wise move !

Being a popular tourist destination, unfortunately, on a Bank Holiday Weekend, it can become busy as is the case with many attractions. We note your points about the car-port and will consider publishing the exact dimensions in future. The rear lane is a public highway albeit a back street where bins are collected, and the stairs in the house are part of the historic Cumbrian 'cottage' design. Anyone who has mobility issues can request our 'Accessibility Guide' from our office where full details of facilities and dimensions are stated.
