From Ambleside take the A593 Coniston Road and after 1 mile turn left at Clappersgate onto B5286. Follow for about 4 miles. As you enter Hawkshead the road swings round to the left, at this point turn right into Barnfield. Signed leading to Vicarage Lane and Walker Ground. Keep left through the bungalows to T- junction. Turn right and go to the top of the lane 200 yds. Do not bear left, but go straight ahead onto the driveway and into Walker Ground. GR 348 980.
From M6 Exit at junction 36. Take the A590 to Newby Bridge roundabout. Take first exit and proceed for 50mtrs, then turn Right signposted Hawkshead & Lakeside, pass the Swan Hotel and follow the road to the right. Follow this road up the East side of the lake to Hawkshead, on entering the village turn left signposted Ambleside as the road swings right go straightforward into Barnfield and follow as above.
From the ferry follow the road for approximately. 4 miles. After crossing the small bridge turn right signed, Ambleside/Coniston. Follow the road around the village and where it swings right go straightforward into Barnfield. Signed leading to Vicarage Lane and Walker Ground then as above.
By public transport from the railway station at Windermere take 505 bus to Coniston, stopping at Hawkshead Car Park, on foot make your way to the village centre and passing the Co-op supermarket walk uphill, passing under a small arch onto Vicarage Lane, 6 mins walk will bring you to Walker Ground.

“Fantastic!”
Sue and Richard have an exceptional eye for detail and could not have been more welcoming. The breakfast quality and quantity are of the highest standard. Can’t recommend this accommodation too highly
