Decorated and furnished with style, opulent Zoffany Rococo fabrics and traditional furniture , this room offers an ambience and quality that only old English oak steeped in history can give. The room includes a sitting area two large comfortable wing chairs and coffee table and views towards to distant fells.
The large en-suite bathroom & dressing room complement the grandeur of the bedroom, with dressing table & chairs, a Victorian roll top bath, large shower cubicle, wash hand basin and WC.
Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and luxury ‘Bath House’ Toiletries are provided, along with smart TV – Hair dryer – Iron and board.

The Veranda is perfect for couples and has the option of an additional bedroom if required (additional charges apply).

Accessed from its own private entrance up steps from the garden at the rear of the house. The Veranda combines a modern Lakeland slate addition with the traditional Manor house.
The Large bedroom has an impressive vaulted ceiling, creating light, character and ambience, with views over the beautiful Lakeland garden. French windows open to give access to the delightful covered veranda, an ideal place to relax to the sound of the nearby waterfall & beck, whilst enjoying the view and wild life of the garden.
Decorated with quality fabrics and furnishings, in keeping with the style and comfort of the Manor. The room has pine furniture, a super king sized bed (or twin beds) and a sitting area with two arm chairs.
The en-suite bathroom is fully tiled and beautifully fitted with a bath, separate walk in shower, wash hand basin and WC.
Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and luxury ‘Bath House’ toiletries are provided. 40 inch flatscreen TV/Radio– hair dryer – iron and board.
Please note the Veranda is a self contained annex, accessed up steep stone steps from the garden and cannot be accessed internally from the main house.

The 2nd Veranda bedroom has a king sized bed and is decorated to compliment the main bedroom. This room shares the bathroom with the main bedroom which both rooms access from the small lobby area. This room is only let in conjunction with the main bedroom.
As well as providing a 2nd bedroom for those who prefer the additional space. With the addition of this room, an extra adult or a family of 4 (children over 12) can be accommodated.
Additional charges of £20 per night plus £15 per extra person per night apply.
To add the 2nd bedroom to your booking, please let us know.
The additional room & costs will then be added to your standard booking and must be confirmed in advance by Walker Ground Manor.

From Ambleside take the A593 Coniston Road and after 1 mile turn left at Clappersgate onto B5286. Follow for about 4 miles. As you enter Hawkshead the road swings round to the left, at this point turn right into Barnfield. Signed leading to Vicarage Lane and Walker Ground. Keep left through the bungalows to T- junction. Turn right and go to the top of the lane 200 yds. Do not bear left, but go straight ahead onto the driveway and into Walker Ground. GR 348 980.

From M6 Exit at junction 36. Take the A590 to Newby Bridge roundabout. Take first exit and proceed for 50mtrs, then turn Right signposted Hawkshead & Lakeside, pass the Swan Hotel and follow the road to the right. Follow this road up the East side of the lake to Hawkshead, on entering the village turn left signposted Ambleside as the road swings right go straightforward into Barnfield and follow as above.

From the ferry follow the road for approximately. 4 miles. After crossing the small bridge turn right signed, Ambleside/Coniston. Follow the road around the village and where it swings right go straightforward into Barnfield. Signed leading to Vicarage Lane and Walker Ground then as above.

By public transport from the railway station at Windermere take 505 bus to Coniston, stopping at Hawkshead Car Park, on foot make your way to the village centre and passing the Co-op supermarket walk uphill, passing under a small arch onto Vicarage Lane, 6 mins walk will bring you to Walker Ground.

    “fantastic”

    Very friendly and helpful hosts. Lovely location, though access road is narrow. Great food, really clean, interesting pets in the garden.
