“Peaceful and relaxing and in an excellent location”

As the owners of Self catering accommodation and a 12 bedroom Guesthouse, we know how time consuming and difficult it is to have everything in place all the time. We are very easy going people and the cottage was in an excellent location and had a lovely interior, even better than in the photos on the website (something you may want to update, as the bathrooms were very recently done and the bed covering etc. were a lot nicer than the photos. :o)
There were a few things that would have made our stay so much more comfortable and convenient;
1. Upon arrival, my wife's Mum and Dad picked up the key 3 hours before our arrival, the house was freezing and it took over 4 hours to warm it up. We know heating is not cheap, but to have turned it on a couple of hours before our arrival would have been very welcoming
2. The lighting outside the Cottage and in the porch area, wasn't working. The bulbs had gone. There were no spare bulbs in the cottage and when we went to the pub, we were told they would be dropped off- but none were. SInce there is no light for the street or surrounding, it was pitch black when we came back in the evening or went out to our cars.
3.The provision of cooking equipment was very poor for a cottage that can sleep up to 8. I would have given a five star overall if this had been a lot better.;
There was only 1 frying pan, which wasn't in a good condition;
No can opener
No cheese grater
No Bottle opener
No Wooden Spoons
No Plastic Spatulas
No Cafetiere's or coffee making machine
etc.
4. In this day and age, a wifi connection would have been so very useful, to be able to research what to do, especially since the weather was poor on our 1st 2 days and we spent several hours inside.

Number 2, 3 & 4 above is why I rated services and Facilities as 2 star.

All this said, we did have a very good stay and the above things are mentioned as a high recommendation, as I know that someone horrible will end up writing a review on trip advisor about theses things.

All the best and thank you :o)

Emma & Steve
