Details

Having breathtaking views to the rear, historic Ling House is nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the village of Threshfield. Just a 20 minute walk from the village of Grassington and close by to the Dales Way and the Cycle Way.
Over four centuries ago a Scottish moss-trooper (Jamie Ibbotson) settled and built Ling House and his descendants have lived in it ever since. The family made Threshfield famous for making besoms and horse dealing. Making the besoms from ling gathered from the moor and then delivering them all around the dales using their horses and carts. You can view all the tools they used fro making the besoms at Skipton Museum and you can still see today several of their favourite horse shoes displayed on the barn door.

The accommodation offers a super king sized bed (or twin room) with an en-suite spa bath, tea & coffee making facilities, satellite tv and wireless internet access available.

The village has its own pub serving great food, local ales and wine and a Tea Room.
Perfectly located being only a 20 minute walk from the bustling village of Grassington and having the old market town of Skipton with its beautiful castle just 8 miles away. Close to both the Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way and the Dales Way.

From Ling House there's plenty to do, you can enjoy beautiful walks in any direction across the fells or down be the River Wharfe. Hire a bicycle in Grassington, explore the local historical villages, visit local markets, festivals and exhibitions, fishing at the local trout farm (Kilnsey Park) or buy a day pass and fish on the River Wharfe. Easily reached is the beautiful old spa town of Harrogate, Roman city of York, Ripon, Leeds, Haworth and the Brontes and James Herriot country, are just a few of the popular places that you can visit from here for a day out.
