Hen Weithdy, which means Old Workshop, is just that; a 19th century
builder’s and carpenter’s workshop which has been sympathetically
converted and modernised to provide comfortable holiday
accommodation on two floors for up to 5 people.
Hen Weithdy is a detached property situated at the end of a shared
driveway with ample parking for two cars, an enclosed patio and
gardens to the front, and with views over farmland to Snowdonia
from the secluded rear patio and garden.
Located in the small village of Llanfaelog, Hen Weithdy is adjacent to
the village shop, and within a quarter of a mile can be found the Post
Office/Shop, Doctor’s Surgery and Church.
The popular holiday town of Rhosneigr is located about one mile
away, past a freshwater lake ideal for both fishing and water sports,
whilst the Rhosneigr golf course, tennis courts and riding stables
are situated on the other side of the village. Rhosneigr also contains
a variety of hotels/pubs, restaurants and bistros.
Cable Bay, with its sandy beach and nearby Ancient Burial Mound is
less than a mile, and there are many other attractive beaches within
1 to 2 miles of Hen Weithdy, including Broad Beach & Traeth Crigyll
at Rhosneigr and Porth Nobla & Porth Tyn Tywyn at Llanfaelog
Just beyond Cable Bay is the Anglesey Race Circuit which is open
throughout the year (car, bike & club racing), and further on is
Abberfraw with its magnificent beach and unspoilt sandy common.
Ground Floor :
The beamed kitchen has a full complement of modern fitted units
including an eye-level oven/grill with a larger fan oven and separate
hob, microwave cooker, separate built-under refrigerator and freezer
etc. (all appliances are electric). The adjoining beamed dining room
has views to the rear over fields to Snowdonia.
The large sitting room has views to the rear of Snowdonia as well as
to the front patio and garden area, and features an ingelnook
fireplace, original beams, a television, video recorder/player, DVD
player and stereo system. A BT Payphone has also been fitted for

First Floor :
Reached by a bright and airy staircase, the upper floor comprises a
bathroom with washbasin, W.C. and heated airing cupboard, while the
twin bedroom and double bedroom each have fitted wardrobes and
Velux skylights with (on tiptoes !) views over the fields to Snowdon.
The enclosed front garden has planted borders and free standing
tubs and can be easily viewed from the large kitchen window, and
although the driveway has to be kept clear for access of the
neighbouring house, there is still ample parking for two cars. The
secluded rear garden has uninterrupted views of Snowdonia and the
Lleyn peninsula, and is accessed only from the dining room,

and one hand towel and one bath towel per person per week; it is
requested that the towels are not used for the beach etc.
All rooms are heated by a modern oil-fired combi central heating
system making Hen Weithdy ideal for out-of-season holidays - short
breaks and weekends can be arranged subject to availability - oil and
electricity are included in the rental.
Hen Weithdy has been tastefully furnished and fitted to combine the
convenience of modern life with the atmosphere and features of
another era, and we look forward to welcoming you as guests - once
you have stayed here we are sure you will return.
A deposit of £75.00 per week is required to secure a booking, and
you will be contacted approximately four weeks prior to the start of
your holiday with a request for the outstanding balance.
Once a receipt has been issued, you will not be entitled to a refund
unless we can re-book that period.
An additional £50 security deposit is requested and provided the
cottage is left in a clean and tidy condition with no breakages or
damage this will be returned.
Hen Weithdy will be available for you from 3.00 PM on your day of
arrival, and you are asked to vacate by 10.00 am on your day of

Hen Weithdy Access Statement General There is one ground floor bedroom at Hen Weithdy, which has a single bed. There is also a bathroom (with shower, toilet and hand basin) available on the ground floor. On the first floor, there are two rooms with a double and a twin beds available. The cottage has an audible smoke detection system only. If specific requirements are needed in the event of an emergency, please discuss this with us prior to, or on your arrival. The most reliable mobile-phone networks in this area are Vodafone. Any information supplied by the proprietors of Hen Weithdy can be produced in large print if required. Assistance dogs are welcome. Please ask for details on wheelchair accessible public transport, which we will be happy to supply you with. Parking Parking is available directly outside the cottage on a level surface. The surface of the parking area is a rough cut gravel, however, it is a short distance to the flagstone path which leads directly up to the cottage. There is a gate to get to the pathway which has a latch handle to open and close. The parking area may be a little dark after daylight hours but a sensor light is fitted above the garage; a torch is available in the kitchen. Main Entrance The main entrance door has a width of 770mm and the threshold is 60mm in height. The door has a lever handle and a glass viewing panel. Kitchen There is reasonable manoeuvrability within the kitchen and lighting is good. The sink has twist operated taps and a mixer spout. The kettle is cordless. The height of the worktops is 900mm and the kitchen appliances are either located on the floor or at worktop height; none of them are wall mounted. The dining area is located within the kitchen area. There are no seats with arm rests and there is standard cutlery and glassware available. Lounge The flooring is wood and there are no rugs present. Manoeuvrability is reasonable and furniture is moveable, so may be rearranged t o suit. The television is located on a floor stand and has a remote control and Teletext facilities. Some of the seating has arm rests and reasonably firm back support. Lighting is good, with a large center light and two moveable lamps. Ground Floor Bedroom This room has a single bed at a height of 620mm. There is limited space within the room and manoeuvrability may be restricted. Lighting is reasonable within the room. Ground Floor Bathroom There is a shower and no bath available in this bathroom. The door has a latch handle. The height of the shower tray is 240mm. The shower controls are at a height of approx 1500mm and there is a dial to operate the temperature and flow. The shower head is fixed and not height adjustable. There is no shower seat available. The height of the toilet seat is 440mm. The height of the shaving point is 1750mm. The flooring is wood with bath mats available. Lighting is good within the bathroom. The sink has separate twist taps. There is minimal use of mirrors. There are no grabrails anywhere within the bathroom. Stairs There are a total of 10 steps to get to the first floor. The step dimensions are, height: 200mm; width: 690mm (minimum); depth: 270mm (minimum); the steps vary as the staircase curves towards its base. There is a handrail on one side of the stairs on the right side ascending; this applies to the upper part of the staircase only as there are several steps at the base of the staircase which do not have the use of a handrail. First Floor Bedrooms The height of the double and twin beds is 600mm. There is limited space within the rooms and manoeuvrability may be restricted. The doors have latch handles. Lighting is reasonable within the rooms. There is a security gate on the landing of the first floor to control access to the stairs. Storage is available in the form of a wardrobe in each room. First Floor Bathroom The bathroom suite is colour contrasted to its sur roundings. There is no shower available in this bathroom. The rim of the bath is at a height of 500mm. The height of the toilet seat is 400mm. There is no shaver point available. The flooring is carpet with bath mats available. Lighting is good. The sink has separate twist taps. There is minimal use of mirrors. There are no grabrails anywhere within the bathroom.
