Details

The Black Swan, once an inn, offers you comfortable accommodation in a traditional cottage on the village green or in the converted Mission Hall (upstairs flat and end-cottage). The M25 and A1 (M) junction is just one mile away. Rail connections at Potters Bar (two miles) and the London Underground at Barnet or Cockfosters (each 4 miles) will take into central London in about 45 minutes. There can be few more rural places so close to London's northern boundary. St Alban's and Knebworth are a short drive away; Windsor, Oxford and Cambridge are reached in about an hour by car. Heathrow is 25 miles distant round the M25, or easily reached by buses from the village to local stations. There is a small shop at the garage ¼ mile down Blanche Lane and a Post Office and launderette on the edge of Potters Bar (1 ¼ miles).

The Cottage has a double room, a single and a twin; the end-cottage (St. Barnabas) has a family room (double and single beds); and the flat (St. Paul) has a double room with an extra bed. The first two also have sofa beds in the living room, if needed. All properties have fully equipped kitchen, central heating, TV, Wi-Fi and there are laundry facilities on site. There is parking in the courtyard.

    “Very good and nice”

Mr.Marsterson was very helpfull when the central heating was broken. We will certainly visit the Black Swan in the future again.
Location was a bit noisy, but in easy reach for visiting London.
