“A lovely, quiet place to stay.”

The cottage was clean and tidy and in a nice location, with a lovely large lounge, beautiful garden and fabulous first floor bedroom and en-suite. However, the layout was such that you would not want to let small children sleep in the second bedroom downstairs, as it was more or less in the utility room and away from the rest of the house, as well as being practically straight into it from the doorway. My husband and I therefore chose to use this room instead. The DVD players in the bedrooms did not appear to work, although the freeview was excellent and the DVD player, TV and freeview in the lounge worked perfectly. We did feel the miss of a phone signal and internet access, and as the owners were away on holiday and off site at the same time, it might have felt quite isolating or worrying for someone who needed emergency contact, or even for someone who needed to contact te owners for any reason. There was, however, a number left for us to ring so someone could let us into the cottage and greet us. Unfortunately, she was unavailable when we arrived, but her daughter came down and welcomed us instead. I contacted the lady later on in the week though and she was very helpful. It was also a lovely touch to have cups out, biscuits ready and milk and juice in the fridge for our arrival. We also appreciated the fact that, even though the pricing was wrong on the website we used to book up on, the owners allowed us to pay the lower price. Definitely a place we would consider staying at again though, and the addition of a dishwasher and washing machine in the house were very welcome!
