Marlbrook Hall

Elton, Ludlow,

Elton, Ludlow,

Welcome to Marlbrook Hall. The farm house was built in 1781, situated in the heart of Mortimer Country. We are a family run working farm consisting of cattle, sheep and arable. Relax and unwind in the peaceful surroundings. Plenty of good walks, cycling and general touring.

We offer you comfortable bed & breakfast accommodation with 1 ensuite double room and 1 twin-bedded room with private bathroom. Wonderful views of the Mortimer Forest and unspoilt countryside. Close to the River Teme and Mortimer Trail. All rooms are well appointed with colour tv, radio, hospitality tray, hairdrier and toiletries. A comfortable sitting room is available for our guests. A full English Breakfast with local produce used whenever possible is served in the beamed dining room. Dietary needs are catered for.

Situated on the Herefordshire/Shropshire border, 7 miles west of the historic market town of Ludlow, 30 miles south of Shrewsbury and 25 miles north of Hereford. There is a post office, garage and two pubs in the village of Wigmore approximately two miles away. The ruins of Wigmore Castle stand proud above the village and date back to the Norman Conquest. Walk along Offa's Dyke, the Mortimer Trail or take advantage of cycle hire nearby.

    “A Home From Home”

The best description is that can sum up our stay was that it felt a home from home.
We were welcomed and made very comfortable within the surroundings, with, let us be honest someone else's family home.
Mrs Morgan could not of been more accommodating, the atmosphere relaxed as I have come to see and feel when on a working farm home. Not forgetting Mr Morgan who in my brief contacts is a lovely gentle man with an including personality and welcoming in his manner.
If you are considering this accommodation like many of their counterparts it is slightly remote, but for me this is what I like as did my husband as both have had experience of farm life in our youth. It is a way of life, a culture within society and must be cherished and not forgotten.
If it is important to know our ages, for the record I am 47, my husband 51.
