Irvine & Mallory are spacious, individual apartments, each with two en-suite bedrooms, sleeping four, within the characterful Applethwaite Country House - a former Gentleman's Residence built in 1881. This gracious property stands in large, private woodland gardens which are home to red squirrels. There is a putting course and a bowling lawn.

Applethwaite, in the northern Lake District, is a peaceful hamlet on the edge of Keswick with excellent access to all areas of the Lake District National Park. The elevated setting of the house, nestling on the slopes of Skiddaw, offers outstanding views over Keswick, Derwentwater and Borrowdale. There are many walks from the door.

Irvine and Mallory are two very unique apartments, each with their own layout and character, but each providing spacious and comfortable home from home accommodation. Both are fully self-contained with private entrance, no shared stairway, non-smoking and with private parking.

Common to both apartments are the wonderful views, double and twin en-suite bedrooms, fully fitted modern kitchens with dishwasher, microwave, electric oven and gas hob and spacious, characterful living accommodation with full central heating.

Bicycle storage and drying facilities are available on request. One pet accepted in Mallory by prior arrangement.

    Exit M6 at jct 40. Follow A66 to Keswick but do not turn left into Keswick, instead continue to the roundabout. Turn right onto the A591 Carlisle Road, then immediately right again up a country lane signed Underscar. The road climbs up and in just under a mile you will see Applethwaite Country House on the right-hand side.
