Gwril View is a delightful property tucked away from the main thoroughfare of the busy Barmouth seaside town on the old part of Barmouth known as 'The Rock' with fantastic sea views from the first floor. This area has been described as 'so quaint is the position of these dwellings that the inhabitants may be seen quietly looking down their neighbours chimneys'.
It has been decorated in a traditional style with some contemporary touches and has exposed ceiling beams in the lounge and double bedroom. Sleeping 5 people, the two storey accommodation consists of:
Ground Floor: kitchen/diner with dishwasher, family bedroom with small double bed and single bed, utility room with washer/dryer and separate dryer.
First Floor: lounge, double bedroom, bathroom (with bath and overhead shower).
Outside there is a store shed which contains all you might need for a day at the beach (wind-break, buckets and spades etc). Full gas central heating, gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, 32 inch LED TV with DVD player in lounge, LCD TV in double bedroom, LCD TV/DVD in family bedroom, cd/radio player, family board games and a large selection of books for both adults and children. Bed linen, bathroom towels and tea towels all included.
Great for a family holiday: Barmouth is one of North Wales most popular seaside resorts with miles of golden sandy beach. It has a selection of modern shops and restaurants as well as pastimes expected of a traditional seaside resort - donkey rides on the beach and a fun fair during the Summer months. Gwril View is just a few minutes walk from the shops, harbour and the beach which makes it ideal for families. Stairgate, travel cot and high chair available on request.
Great for a walking holiday: Barmouth is situated on the Cambrian Coast just beyond the fringe of the Snowdonia National Park. Local public footpaths provide access to outstanding scenery. Wandering up the narrow lanes of old Barmouth in a matter of minutes you reach Dinas Oleu - the craggy hillside above the old town. This area has the distinction of being the very first land acquired by the National Trust. The beautiful Cader Idris (Cadair Idris) is clearly visible from Barmouth harbour in fine weather and has always been popular with mountain walkers. After a hard days walking Gwril View is warm and welcoming. All fuel charges are included.

“Home from home with extras to suit family needs.”
It was obvious little or no cleaning had been done other than bedding and towel changes as our children had black and sandy feet even from the first day in the house, it appeared carpets weren't vacuumed and floors not washed.
The house totally met the description and we have no fault with the owner, it is the cleaner hired that has failed in the letting of this property.
We chose this house partly due to being home from home so met all expectations and suited our needs.

We were sorry to read this review. We always pride ourselves on the cleanliness of Gwril View. All feedback for the Summer of 2014 was otherwise good (as is evidenced by the Guest Book in the cottage). You did contact the owner during your stay and no mention was made of your unhappiness - if we had known we would have immediately arranged to attend to the property to ensure everything was to your satisfaction. However, we appreciate your feedback and we do now have a new housekeeper/cleaner. In January 2015 Visit Wales once again awarded the cottage 4* and said the the standards of housekeeping are commendable throughout the property.
